During my training to become a therapist, I was surprised by how little attention was given to sexual health and related concerns. This gap in education leaves many therapists ill-equipped to address clients’ sexual issues, often reinforcing the belief that these struggles are unmentionable and impossible to resolve. Unfortunately, many clients leave traditional therapy feeling even more isolated and discouraged.
Recognizing sexuality as an essential part of overall well-being, I sought out specialized training to fill this void. I began my postgraduate work at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Sexual Behaviors Consultation Unit in Baltimore, Maryland, a renowned center for sexual health and education.
At Johns Hopkins, I gained invaluable experience working with patients who presented a wide range of sexual issues—from dysfunction and lack of desire to complex behavioral concerns. This hands-on clinical work deepened my understanding of sexual health as a nuanced, vital part of human experience.
Building on my Johns Hopkins foundation, I pursued further training at Widener University’s Human Sexuality Studies Program, expanding both my clinical knowledge and practical skills as a sex therapist.
In addition, I worked with the National Institute for the Study, Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Trauma in Baltimore, providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy focused on sexual well-being.
For over a decade, I have dedicated my career to helping clients resolve sexual concerns and live more fulfilling, pleasurable lives. My approach combines education, guided personal exploration, and relationship skill building, leading to greater confidence and comfort in sexual expression. For clients struggling with out-of-control sexual behavior, I offer a compassionate and nonjudgmental space to understand patterns and establish healthy boundaries.
It is my goal to create an atmosphere of openness and acceptance where clients feel safe sharing their most private concerns; often for the first time. Many express profound relief at finally finding someone who understands their struggles and offers practical, knowledgeable help without judgment.
